25.05.2007
It is a pleasure for Viña San Pedro again, to be able to announce our wines attained very important awards, this time at the renowned Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, which took place the 29th and 30th of April at the Dutch city of Maastricht.
Thus, 1865 Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 was awarded a Great Gold Medal; 1865 Syrah 2005 and 1865 Carmenère 2005 were distinguished with a Gold Medal; while in turn, our wines 35°South Shiraz 2006, Castillo de Molina Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 and Castillo de Molina Shiraz 2005 attained each a Silver Medal.
On this XIV version of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, one of the most important oenological competitions in the world, Chile excelled among the big winners, because its wines reached 129 medals in total, from which, 7 were Great Gold Medals (two for VSP Wine Group), 50 were Gold Medals (5 for the group), and 72 corresponded to Silver Medals (3 for VSP WG). San Pedro also stood out among the wineries with a large number of prizes.
Each version of this contest, involves the participation of more than 200 experts coming all around the world in order to taste approximately 5.500 wines and spirits –more than 5.700 samples this year 2007–, produced in all five continents.
